My passion for cooking began when I was a child. As a teenager I became the primary cook in my household and as a college music student, I was often asked to cater receptions for friends doing recitals. Even as an elementary music teacher I continued to find a way to provide delicious home cooked meals for my family.
I decided to make a career change and enrolled at the Arizona Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, AZ where I graduated with honors. After a couple years of working in restaurant/commercial kitchen environment, I decided to start Effortless Bistro to help people busy with career and family obligations enjoy delicious home cooked meals and gain time and independence in their daily lives.
I love to share my diverse culinary experience with my clients. I grew up in nearby southern New Jersey and after graduating from college lived in Oregon for 10 years. I lived in Arizona for over decade until moving to Maryland in 2016. I’ve always endeavored to learn and collect recipes representing the local cuisine of the places I have lived and visited. Whether it’s Italian pasta, native Pacific Northwest inspired salmon, or a spicy Southwestern dish, I look forward to creating healthy and delicious home cooked meals for my clients.
I am also particularly fond of baking and will happily bake cookies, quick breads, muffins, scones and other items that make a tasty dessert, snack or breakfast. If you have a special occasion, I am a skilled cake decorator and will gladly make you a beautiful desert to celebrate.
